Staying at Des Iles in Essaouira was a mixed bag. The location is amazing, so close to the beach and a short walk to the medina. The views from my room overlooking the Atlantic were stunning. However, the hotel is definitely in need of some serious updates. My room felt very outdated, resembling something from the 1950s. It lacked modern conveniences like air conditioning, which made for a warm and uncomfortable night. The cleanliness left a lot to be desired too, with dusty surfaces that dampened my overall comfort. I did appreciate the helpful staff during my stay, who did their best despite the circumstances. The restaurant was also nice, but it closed early which was inconvenient for late-night snacks. Overall, while the charm of the location is undeniable, the hotel itself needs significant improvements to truly enhance the guest experience.

The location is phenomenal, perfect for a family of seven. We enjoyed windsurfing adventures just a short walk away, and the service was fantastic. The historical vibe of the hotel added charm to our holiday, especially the beautifully preserved areas.
My wife says that the cleanliness in common areas needs improvement.
